Privacy
VoteStay is operated by Dream OPS B.V., a company registered in the Netherlands. This page describes exactly what we store. It's deliberately short because we store very little.
No accounts, no profiles
VoteStay has no user accounts. When you first use the site, our server sets one cookie, vs_uid: a random identifier that lets your votes count once and keeps you in your parties. It contains no personal data, and we never use it for advertising or sell it.
Analytics and cookies
To improve VoteStay we use two analytics tools. PostHog runs cookielessly - nothing is stored on your device and it needs no consent. Google Analytics does set cookies and sends data to Google, so in the EU, the EEA and the UK we ask before switching it on: it stays off until you accept the banner.
You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's cookies and browser storage. Outside those regions Google Analytics is enabled by default. We show no ads and never sell your data.
What we store
Party names, the display names members choose, listing links from supported booking sites with their public titles and photos, optional price notes, and votes. That's it. Don't put personal information in party names or display names; first names or nicknames are all it needs.
How long
Parties and everything in them are deleted automatically 90 days after the party's last activity. There are no backups of expired parties beyond a 35-day disaster-recovery window.
Where
Data is stored with Amazon Web Services in the EU (Ireland, eu-west-1).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to access or delete data connected to your browser's identifier. Contact us at [email protected] and we'll sort it out.
The listing sites
VoteStay is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of the booking sites it links to. When you open a listing, you leave VoteStay and the provider's own privacy policy applies.
